Our services are performed at our customer’s facilities nationwide. When logistically feasible, we can ship the material to our Houston or one of our port processing facilities. Equipment is assessed to maximize value and if it cannot be resold in a timely manner, it will be safely disassembled & recycled.

David E. Hess founded AMS Group as a recycler of large oil-filled substation transformers and has grown the company into a premier provider of investment recovery for all resale plant equipment and power/industrial plant demolition services. David has worked in the electrical equipment and metals trading industry for over 25 years and has management, processing and trading experience in all phases of these industries. He served as chairman of the Houston Metal Processors and Recyclers Association from 1999 to 2000. He is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10K small business program and a former chair of Young Adult Forum, an associate of YPO. David attended the University of Texas at Austin and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. Personal attention is given to every client and his knowledge of three different languages ensures smooth transactions in the international markets.
Matthew Herridge, Production Manager, has been in the electrical & energy industries focusing on the substation and distribution markets for the utility and non-utility industries. He has worked in all phases of these industries and has managed various specific plant decommissioning projects throughout the US. He is OSHA 30 certified and is qualified to operate and manage our investment recovery, decommissioning and demolition projects.
John M. Hess, Chairman, brings strong support to the top management, having held CEO and senior positions during the last 40 years, with both public and private companies generating multi-million dollar revenues. He is a YPO and WPO leader and brings a strong technical background in a variety of industry sectors, particularly in metals industry as well as in International marketing.
